  1. With a member like this. We will loose our credibility to talk other countries about democracy and human rights. There are attempts to raise number Hungaries inside of the EU. Something must be done. Some sanctions if it is necessary take them out. I know there is no mechanism to oficially to kick them out but everybody knows If we really want we can handle that quickly.

  2. I thought you had to be a full democracy to be in the EU?. so when are we imposing some penalties on them?.. something really devastating that’s only lifted when full democracy is restored.

  3. Then freeze funds until improvements are made, we can’t have pseudo-dictatorships in the EU but we can’t expel them for now, fuck Orbán and fuck Fidesz.

Also, fuck PiS for protecting Hungary.

  4. Thing is, no actual action can be taken because Poland will probably veto because what would happen to them is likely to happen to Poland because of other reasons (that I’m sure everyone is aware of)

  5. What the Hungarian MEP Gál was saying at the end of the article is the only thing you can hear in the media. If your tv happens to be on, they will tell you this about the EU every hour.

  6. This makes me feel sed, angry, weary and afraid.

Sad and angry because I’ve visited hungary many times and will continue visiting in the future and it’s honestly very sad to see this happening here.

Weary and afraid because Hungary is very much a cautionary tale and a warning sing, as much as it hurts to say, for Poland and how the situation might deteriorate here.

  7. This is a very serious report with grave implications. Provided the Polish dictator won’t cheat in the upcoming elections, Poland with at last new sane government will strip Hungary of its member status. Inshallah!
