A person earning average wages in Switzerland will have to work for only 4.6 days to be able to afford the latest iPhone Pro – topping Picodi’s list. The alpine country was closely followed by the US, where an average person has to work 5.7 days to get their hands on the device.
Ireland, which is 11th on the list, comes in ahead of Germany (10.4 days) and just behind New Zealand (8.8 days). Others near the top of the list include Australia (6.1 days), Singapore (7.6 days), Canada (7.7 days), South Korea (10.5 days), France (11.1 days) and the UK (11.2 days).

Or you know, just buy a much cheaper phone that still does what you need it to do, but won’t put you in debt for the sake of being a tiny bit faster and a tiny bit shinier.
I’m genuinely curious who buys these things, assuming they bought the last one
Why to work so hard to get this phone don’t make sense.
All of us?
Holy shit, €1,339.00 for a phone.
Unless your job is basically being an influencer or something like that, that sounds like an absolutely colossal waste of money to me.
The most expensive phone I’ve ever bought was €430.00 and it still does a great job even today.
Don’t want one, can I have the time off?
Some people earn a lot more than me, some earn a lot less. Do they ask me for a payslip and calculate 9.7 days pay?
Sure on the .7 day you can knock off at lunch so savings really
I’m due an upgrade this Christmas and I’ve never had an iPhone, so I think I might get one, I’m sick of my samsung.
On a previous job, I was in charge of purchasing phones and would have to spend 1/2 the budget buying phones like this for upper mangment while everyone else got low tier refurbished phones 😢
I have a fairly well paying job and not that many outgoings currently but not a hope would I ever pay €1,339 for a phone. My current phone is the most expensive I ever bought and it was €500 I think and I saved up to buy it. I don’t see the value in bill pay either so that’s not an option.
Anyone who buys these phones, do you think they’re good value?
So I calculated it and I realised the article is wrong… the average person would have to turn up, not actually work…
Not on the social…. You’ll be amazed at how many claimants will have one……
Or else just not upgrade this year
It’s not work 9.7 days, it’s save the equivalent of 9.7 days. Have they no food or other costs to pay for as well?
Would many even buy the phone outright?
>This means that a person earning average wages in Ireland – which is €872 per week
I make less than the dole while working and I have been waiting for my X and O payment for the last month.
No regular person needs an iPhone 14 Pro, or any iPhone Pro.
same shit different year
And there’s only 7 days in the week! Nobody’ll be able to get one here!
What a terribly inaccurate statement, the amount you get per day or week is not net, it’s gross so you would have to work a much higher number of day to save thy amount
