  1. Interesting that he’s no longer taking questions and answers in the Dáil on this. I’d expected to see it on the schedule for the first week back, but no sign of it, given that he promised to do so.

Maybe he thinks that because he resigned as a minister he shouldn’t have to – but he’s still there as a TD and I don’t see why his commitment to giving a full account to the Dáil shouldn’t stand.

  2. Seen RTE news report on the street in Mullingar a few weeks back.

One woman being interviewed gave her best “he apologised, and people have done worse, he’s a great man”.

    Imagine being that fucking blinkered……..

  3. Apologies for wrong doings from elected officials are irrelevant – they are supposed to be first by example…when they are not, they have to go

  4. “I’ve made an insincere apology and will do so again today.” – says man with media training and press advisers.

    Jesus wept.

  5. I think politicians (or amateur politicians) conflate full and genuine with fulsome, those two words do not mean the same thing… like, you wouldn’t say I gave a ‘generous or abundant ‘ apology, it sounds arsey… Big Phil has a lot to answer for #golfgate
