For example, if Burke refuses to use the non-gendered pronoun (because the church recognises only two genders) are they ok with using a trans person’s new name, if it’s legally changed by deed poll?

This is a good point IMO. It costs nothing to use people’s preferred pronouns. Literally nothing. It genuinely confuses me that some people are bothered by this.
The petulant child has more cop on than whoever wrote that garbage.
Tbh I don’t really give a fuck about any of this. I’ll call someone whatever they want me to call them, always have. I will say though that the sub this is in is **completely fucking mental**.
I think this may be better suited for /r/casual Ireland
If someone wants me to refer to them as a xmas tree I will refer to them as a xmas tree. Especially if it annoys grown adults crying online about the skin colour of fictional characters.
