That’s German by the looks of it. That’s not an American food. Americans eat tons of ketchup, but that’s got curry, which is India-inspired. One of the main ingredients in that ketchup is mustard, which Americans apply as a separate condiment.
American ketchup arguably tastes gross on its own, but on a burger with other condiments can be tasty.
You dont buy the spicy one but orginal (delikat) and next thing you know, you put it on everything including your toothbrush.
And never buy Joppie Saus, it’s Hela in cheap.
Never had the extra scharf (extra spicy) variant but the regular curry ketchup is great for grilled sausages
That’s German curry sauce, I like it, it is in no way American, you probably got it from shop that has alot of German customers or atleast a German community.
What makes it horrible?
Get a hot dog (or preferably a higher quality sausage), slice it up into little discs, heat it up, add some Gewürz, get a small fork, and bam you’ve got street-level currywurst
I have lived in US all my life, and have never seen this.
Grilled sausage with curry ketchup is an extremely popular fast food in Germany.
I love that sauce on wurst.
It’s amazingly good.
Its ready made sauce for german curry wurst. But normally its better to mix it yourself.

With gusto!
That’s obviously not an American product (Mit der original Hela Würzung is not English language)
And btw if you want a pretty good spicy, curry-ish, ketchup type sauce Maggi brand sauces are pretty delicious (I’m Indian and grew up eating these with samosas/pakoras): https://www.walmart.com/ip/Maggi-Mild-Sweet-Chili-Sauce-11-43-oz/10804324?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=4466&adid=22222222421449455996&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-293946777986&wl5=9027793&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=10804324&wl13=4466&veh=sem_LIA&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIpA2X8cBLpvnqX6hTDIw3J8Y&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIpA2X8cBLpvnqX6hTDIw3J8Y&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIoMTHganQ8wIV0u2zCh0vmQ-GEAQYAiABEgIeaPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
This isn’t even an American product. Op can’t read 😂😂😂
What if OP is an American trying out new things while in the US, and is here asking Germans how they enjoy this?
That would make a lot of sense in this context.
Umlaut U. Come on lol.
Curry ketchup goes on ebverything
It’s not like the usual ketchup, it will not fit to everything
I’ve never had it, but I mean, it’s goddamn ketchup. Even if it didn’t taste bad, it’d taste like ketchup, you know? Not exactly a gourmet meal
Mix in a gallon of high fructose syrup to make it tolerable for American palette
This is possibly the biggest insult to the german people since the treaty of Versailles
put it on a frikandel speciaal
You have to be full of testosterone to appreciate it
You put it on your Weiner all discreet like….
