Trying new things in the States, had this for the first time – it’s horrible – how do you eat this!?!

  1. That’s German by the looks of it. That’s not an American food. Americans eat tons of ketchup, but that’s got curry, which is India-inspired. One of the main ingredients in that ketchup is mustard, which Americans apply as a separate condiment.

American ketchup arguably tastes gross on its own, but on a burger with other condiments can be tasty.

  2. You dont buy the spicy one but orginal (delikat) and next thing you know, you put it on everything including your toothbrush.
And never buy Joppie Saus, it’s Hela in cheap.

  3. Never had the extra scharf (extra spicy) variant but the regular curry ketchup is great for grilled sausages

  4. That’s German curry sauce, I like it, it is in no way American, you probably got it from shop that has alot of German customers or atleast a German community.

  5. Get a hot dog (or preferably a higher quality sausage), slice it up into little discs, heat it up, add some Gewürz, get a small fork, and bam you’ve got street-level currywurst

  6. What if OP is an American trying out new things while in the US, and is here asking Germans how they enjoy this?

That would make a lot of sense in this context.

  7. I’ve never had it, but I mean, it’s goddamn ketchup. Even if it didn’t taste bad, it’d taste like ketchup, you know? Not exactly a gourmet meal
