They’ll soon implore no one eats curry or pickled onions on Sunday night so the sound of farts isn’t heard to disturb the peace.
Wow I’d be so pissed of that were me. Luckily I don’t have enough money to be booking flights and taking time off work.
Should an airline cancel my flight for as reason such as this I would make it a point to never again use that airline no matter any extra cost to myself.
This will only make ‘The Patriotic Song’ or the Sex Pistols being played on people’s ‘phones more audible, surely?
My first international trip in 11 years, finally got the money and vacation time saved up, with a layover in London, scheduled to land at 12:20 that day, FML.
Will there still be press helicopters flying around at the time? This seems a bit moot if so.
I was at the Palace on Tuesday Eve when the Queen’s coffin arrived (not a monarchist, just happened to be in London for work so thought I’d see what was going on!) and press helicopters were flying right overhead super loudly the entire time, even as the coffin arrived.
This bank holiday feels like the most pointless thing ever. Pubs and restaurants shut, no cinema, no McDonalds and now no flights.
My parents have had a big trip booked for months to commemorate their retirement, means a lot more to me that they get to do that than the Queen passing on.
Pretty much convinced it’s their way of hiding the fact they’re sh*t scared of terrorist attacks: all those leaders, heads of state, princes, all conveniently gathered together in one place and very close in date to 9/11
I am all for the pageantry and fluff. I am neither for or against the monarchy because I see good and bad in it but these measures are just bloody wierd and cultish.
This country is just beyond a joke at this point. The entire country comes to a standstill, even to the point of cancelling international travel and people’s medical care, because a monarch that only about half the country even recognises has died. Wall to wall mawkish royalist propaganda fills our channels and the media are whipping up a frenzy of mandatory grieving of a like never seen before, and then the people if this country have the audacity to mock the likes of China, Russia and North Korea for their propaganda and government controlled media narratives. How embarrassing.
It isn’t as if many airlines hadn’t been randomly canceling flights before the Queen’s death.
Is a plane really going to be that big of a distraction? I doubt you will hear much over the crowd as it is.
I understand that things may seem to be getting out of hand.
However, at the same time, she was Queen for a bloody long time and saw the beginning, and it is the end of an era?
If they attempt to do this for Charles when he goes? Then rightfully kick off.
I’m in two minds about this.
How could people abjure the Realm on such a day. They should stop all flights for the remainder of the year, really.
Something tells me it has nothing to do with ensuring silence.
Yeah, this is a bit much. Canceling flights, surgeries, burials and so on for one person is ridiculous.
Next they will be turning the internet off during the funeral.

I’m a huge royals fan but bloody hell.
