  1. I’d be very interested to know what the sentence is for this. Seems like there are a substantial amount of mitigating factors.

Anyway gents, stop watching porn and having casual sex.

edit: He got four years, which is obviously at the very bottom of the setencing guidelines.

  2. Pretty disturbing how some comments link this to casual sex or say there were mitigating factors. At the end of the day, consent is needed before putting your penis in someone’s anus. She had damage to her body from it.

  3. Four years in jail for 20-30 seconds of a non-consensual act, which was stopped when requested, is excessive in my opinion.

As a user of dating sites in the past couple of years, I have had women perform a number of ‘non-consensual’ acts on me, including slipping a finger up my bum, scratching the absolute shit out of my back, using their teeth during fellatio, twisting my balls like they were trying to pull an unripe tomato off its stem, etc.

These acts all caused me pain and were entirely non-consensual. I don’t see these women as criminals, though, but rather as clumsy and/or naive. As long as they stopped when I asked, I sort of accept that the discomfort comes hand-in-hand with the risks one takes when engaging in casual sex with a stranger. They certainly would not have deserved four years in prison, again, in my opinion.

  4. I don’t quite understand how a jury can make an assured decision on this (based on what’s in the article). He says he believes she consented. She says she didn’t. So it’s “he said she said” and the “evidence” that she didn’t consent is that she had a laceration in her anus?

Sorry if I have missed something.

EDIT – Not sure why I am getting downvoted for asking questions. I have no agenda.

  5. Good

Convictions like this will help change cultural and societal understandings of sexual consent

‘Yes’ to one thing doesn’t mean yes to everything
