Can I get in trouble for removing stickers for the no-COVID law? I removed 62 of them around town in Vaud, and I’m a minor. Could I face legal consequences?

Stickers? Like stickers put on public spaces illegally or on paid advertising boards?
Oh these stickers i see them in Zürich too please continue we support you 100% and hope that there are more people like you.You are doing sth fine what they are doing is illegal influencing other people to stop wearing masks and shit like that so pls continue
It’s not illegal if it’s not paid for. However don’t be stupid next time and do things you are not sure if it’s legal and then ask later if it was.
Although i sympathize with your intensions, i don’t think removing these stickers will have a real impact on the voting. Further, I also think that you are trying to silence the counterpart. This is a method which i will never support. The more important thing you should and can do, is actually vote.
I do not support anti vaxers but what you are doing is against the direct democracy that makes this country great… this coming from an expat that loves everything about Switzerland
No you’re good, carry on. Update here with your progress 👍
Just made a reddit account to personally reply to you. As a disclaimer, everyone in my household is vaxxed, I’m entirely for vaccines, but not forcing anything on anyone, and I believe freedom always comes first. So..
You’re an idiot, grow up and live your life. Don’t try to force your ideas onto others, everyone here deserves to have their own opinion, no matter how much you may disagree. Switzerland is not the US, and it really pains me to see such divisiveness in the subreddit of my country.
Instead of just hating and demonising “them”, try to empathise and understand their point of view. Why are some people against the COVID law? Why isn’t everyone vaccinated? To me it’s fairly obvious that vaccinating an entire population is impossible, it’s part of human nature. So why keep on chasing an ideal out of touch from reality?
Also if you’re doing it because you care about “saving lives”, why would you come here and brag about it? To me it seems more like an affirmation of your self-conceived identity. I’m also starting to be quite skeptical about lockdowns saving people in the long-run. Excess deaths unrelated to COVID, ODs and mental illness, and the economic consequences will be felt for many years to come, so it’s impossible to correctly predict the future.
Anyway I digress, I’m sure you’re a good kid, think for yourself, and never let your emotions in the way of reason.
Good job!
OK so here are my 2 cents
I think I understand how you feel, and tbh, I normally wouldn’t have anything against someone removing propaganda from the streets
Now since covid started my dad has sunk more and more into conspiracy theories and now he’s deep, very deep in it
It deeply pains me to see this and though I believe him to not be stupid, he is shirtless scared and alone and he got himself surrounded by the wrong people at the wrong time
Anyway, the first things he used to tell me back when we talked about this (before I told him to basically never talk to me about covid again) was how people would call him crazy, stupid, selfish and would try to remove his Facebook posts, or tear off the stickers he bought to put up around the village
Now I’m not endorsing my father’s actions but what I can tell you is that for some of these people, having their beliefs met with such harsh responses hurts them and encourages them into their already ongoing narrative of pseudo victims.
So yeah, I think trying to understand where those people are coming from and do your best to educate them if you have the will for it and they listen is the best thing you can do, anything else, mind your own business cause you’re doing more harm than good to this debate.
Hasn’t worked with my dad but didn’t keep me from trying, and now I’m not actively trying to dismantle his theories, I just let him be and told him I don’t want to talk about covid unless he’s willing to listen to me as well
Go back to bed, folks. The night is for sleeping 🙂
Biggest consequence is becoming my hero! I was going to do the same, but my husband stopped me and said “probably has virus, don’t touch it”. My germaphobia won.
Just be careful next time that a supporter of this law is not seeing you tear ’em off. Things could escalate quickly–> violence.
Lol you really think this will change anything ? You’re an idiot without brain.
I doubt you will but you should
I do not think that we should resort to vigilantism to resolve such issues. It’s the responsibility of the Commune to clean their lamp poles.
If we pressure them to count how much cleaning of stickers cost annually, I do not think the public would approve putting them there in the first place.
In your case, you are a minor and you have not yet the right to vote. However, you do have the right to express your opinion. If you think stickers are wrong, you can always attend the next communal assembly and ask to speak up there. I think that people are grateful when the youth not only talks about climate but also about tangible issues.
You can but some people got in trouble for doing the exact same thing for the same-sex marriage votation…
Personally I believe what you are doing directly goes against what democracy should be.
It’s illegal to put them there in the first place so removing them is totally fine.
Edit: By the way – thank you for removing them!
A friend of mine got hurt removing one of those stickers because they put razor blades underneath the sticker. Truly fucked up. 😡🤯
Not all heroes wear capes
Hero of the nation
Bei der Polizei gemeldet.
Why would you do that? If it was a pro covid law would you also remove the stickers?
The people who put those have a different opinion than you, but they deserve to be heard as much as you. If their ideas and arguments are really bad, they deserve even more to be exposed to their ridicule.
an award is what you should get
If it was on private property, yes it was illegal. But even worse, you’re an idiot. __Democracy is about giving everyone a right to speak, even if you strongly disagree, and then have a vote,__ because you also expect your opinions and your rights to be respected. __If you start depriving other people of their lawful rights, you have no leg to stand on to complain when other people start depriving _you_ of your lawful rights,__ and in ways you may really not like. And if you do it long enough, it’s only a matter of time until this happens. In a democracy people have the right to their opinion even if they’re very badly mistaken. One of the very nice things about Switzerland is that people generally try to respect other opinions, even if they firmly disagree. There are countries where this doesn’t happen, and believe me, life in them is not nearly as pleasant. So stop doing your part to turn Switzerland into a sh*thole.
Hardly. The worst thing that could happen is a stern “Don’t do that again”.
Don’t remove posters/flags though, those are different to stickers on lamps etc
my hero.
The hero we’ve all been waiting for 🤌 I’m astounded that this type of initiative is allowed and that it can do so much publicity…
They wont fucking know if you dont post about it bozo
As a general rule, if you are wondering what you did was illegal:
Dont record proofs of what you did.
If you do dont post them.
If you want to ask at least do it in third person😂
Lol
No and you’re doing the right thing, but watch out for hidden razor blades!
nope. I’ve put my own custom qr codes on top of them
