I’m a USA tourist. I got a SIM card at the Athens Airport.

I’m trying to call this number with Bank of America 800.432.1000

**I tried typing in 01 800 432 1000 without spaces**

**I got a message saying the number I entered is incorrect. What might you try?**

The reason I’m trying to call bank of america is that it was linked to the revolut app. And the revolut app seems to have been (? hacked? not sure the word but many revolut redditors are reporting that the revolut app is displaying profane messages like ‘fuck me daddy’ and ‘your a gay n-gger’ so some redditors have speculated that an angry employee is trolling the app. Also, the close account button stopped working for revolut. I had a bank of america account linked to the Revolut app. In the app, I disconnected the bank of america account but I’m trying to also make sure bank of america knows what is going on on their end so they can block any revolut transactions in the future.

I also tried changing my PIN number and phone number for the revolut app, but the phone number change (to my new Greece phone number) didn’t seem to work and now I can’t log back in because I don’t have access to my USA original phone number since I’m in Greece

  1. If you have voice over IP cell dialing you can call an 800 number from overseas using your original usa sim card otherwise nope.

  2. Isn’t it +1 instead of 01?

All else fails, you could make a free google voice account, add $5 and call any US number from there.

  3. To exit a country by phone call you always dial 00.

Then you add the country code (1 for the USA) and the number.

    00 1 800 blah…

  4. You cannot call 800 numbers from outside US/Canada.

Though, most 800 numbers forward to a local paid number (and that’s how the charge is done). Try asking the AT&T operator how to call 800 numbers: +1-314-925-6925 (you dial + by pressing 0 for a second too long and the phone takes care of dialing the appropriate amount of zeros)
