I’m kind of torn on this one. Great to see Irish actors getting much deserved recognition but McDonagh’s portrayal of Irish people as simple and stupid really grinds my gears.
Judges obviously have not seen Micheal Flatley’s portrayal of Victor Blackley in Micheal Flatley’s motion picture Blackbird.
I haven’t even heard of the movie, but it sounds like a black velvet. Irish in theory.. but there’s something wrong with you if you actually order it.
The trailer looks good. Slightly mad and dark.
Congrats!
Sure he’s come a long way from *Ballykissangel* …
Saw the trailer for this but wasn’t sold, will check it out though.
Nothing against the movie, but I can practically read the IMDB reviews already:
‘One star. I came expecting shrieking banshees, and I got no shrieking banshees.’
Recently watched BBC series The North Water and thought he was fucking savage in it, he truly made you stand on edge awaiting his next sentence / move. Really terrifying character.
Filmed in Ireland. Lots of the pub scenes were filmed not from where I grew up in Achill island. Was class to see them building the set and the attention to detail.
