Tandartsen, huisdokters en andere zorgverstrekkers moeten tarieven uithangen in wachtkamers

  1. If you’re getting charged at the end of anything, you should know how much beforehand so you can consent. Great change that needs to be applied to everything everywhere.

  2. Excellent proposal. It will probably also discourage certain health professionals of asking excessive tarifs.

  3. This will probably affect dentists the most as everyone needs one and there are still enough around to choose from. About time there is more transperancy on their fees.

Not sure it will affect the general practitioners as much (majority is conventionalised) or specialists (you’re still going to pay for it anyway, no choice)

  4. The question is do we still want “niet geconventioneerde” doctors?

If the prices are all the same there can be a way easier system and it also clear before what you need to pay…

  5. This is great. I’m pregnant and going to obgyn appointments. I never know what I’ll be paying can be anywhere between 50 and 90 euro’s. The scans always seem the same though. However, I can see it’s hard to make a list for everything. Example: dentists checkup is cheaper I guess than fill a cavity, which will be cheaper than a crown… So. Jeah.

  6. This seems like a good idea in theory but it feels too late if you need to set up an appointment. Unless you’re not gonna be charged to walk out. Still, waste of everyone’s time. These prices should be available online.

We also need to make it clearer, up front, who is (semi) conventioned or not. Yes, you can look it up. But many people don’t even know what it is. In short: government gives healthcare workers that are approved for this money into a pension plan, but that means they need to agree to maximum prices. Doctors usually go with this, but for dentists it is laughable.

To those suggesting we should enforce convention, we’d achieve the same by raising the premium. But as per usual there is no money for it. There is also a yearly negotiation about the money granted so it would suck if healthcare workers were suddenly told they’ll get less. Now it is balanced by the fact they can choose to not opt in anymore.

Also for those wondering convention is different than what you get from your mutuality. They just give you money based on the prestation. I’m not 100% sure but I think in case of a conventioned doctor you only pay the remgeld, and a non conventioned you pay the extra but it counts towards your maximum bill?
