Not sticking up for Sports Direct but this was months ago under different rules and none of them had tested positive at the time they went to work.
This type of stuff (and worse) is very common in retail/hospitality (and completely wrong).
I think the Health & Safety Executive should get involved in this now.
Sports Direct are in the news too often now, for their bad business practice.
Also we should consider of direct boycott of Sports Direct. They are a terrible company.
Someone got pinged at work a few months back, boss told them they had to go home (no pay SSP only) and then said “delete that bloody app”
Anything to take the publics gaze off that whole corridors of powder situation
If anyone is surprised by this then they’ve never worked in retail.
I know for a fact that Frasers had some staff in during the latter of the ORIGINAL lockdown while supposed to be on furlough. Seeing them continue to skirt rules to get people in isn’t surprising.
This is rife in retail and hospitality at the moment.
I know somebody working in a small/medium chain, around November time they were instructed to discourage anybody who is exhibiting illness symptoms from taking a test.
At least they were told, I worked on 2 different shifts at my work, 2 people (one on each shift) had close contact with me and then took time off, only to be informed by ones relative and another’s neighbour they both had covid. When I pressed my section leader about it he said “yeah I heard something about it” I was “I’ve worked on a line a few metres away from them both for a week don’t you think I should have been informed?” “dunno probably”
