  1. Heenkerke seems to be a spelling error as it’s not an actual place in Belgium (as far as I can tell anyway). It might come from Steenkerke near Veurne as it wouldn’t have been crazy far from the war front.

    Funny thing is that when you Google Heenkerke, all you get is 100 links leading to this same picture … So everyone seems to have been copy-pasting the same error.
