I am once again asking for help finding current family members! my great grandpa from Slovenske Konjice, Alojz Skrbinšek (wife Marija Esih) and 6 kids, Alojzij, Ceceilija, Henrik, Stefan, Milan, and Willi (my grandpa who moved to Canada in the 60s) (last slide has the names and birthdates)

  1. after those dates there are rexords in the local municipality or i think even on the ministry so you can try contacting one of those. if not ans if you know they were baptized, you can check local church records since those last back even longer

  3. Wait a second. My girlfriends mom is from around Slovenske Konjice, her last name was Skrbinšek and some ancestors went to Canada. I am not joking.

  4. If you have someone who can go to a church a priest can look up the birth records to find names of living relatives. You may not know this but cemeteries have a very short history because they remove old names when family members die and literally would for example bury a son on top of his father. Goodluck.

  5. I researched my family tree, some time ago..
    All 3 book types( birth book, marriage books, book of death records), are kept at the Arch Bishop Archive in Ljubljana (Nadškofijski arhiv).
    In your case, you start with the birth book from Slovenske Konjice that contains the year 1904, there you will find info on your ggrandpa, who his parents were and how old were they when he was born.
    Then you go look in the marriage book and investigate further.

  9. Looking at the booklet, Marija Esih was his mother (2nd image). His wife was Roza, top of the 3rd image.

  11. UPDATE: u/yar0mir, the REAL mvp, got me in contact with his girlfriend who is Štefan’s granddaughter. Her mom kept in contact with my grandpa up until he died in 2015 and has been trying to find my dad and uncle for years! I KNEW if I kept posting someone would recognize the names! Thank you all for your help <3 can’t believe I’ve actually found em 🙂
