Also, one of the worst traffic jams in Switzerland
Problem that not many are able to see here is that on a hot summer having your car on for 1 hour or so without moving is a bad thing, unless you have the start/stop or an ev it can do more harm than good
Does this tunnel have multiple lanes? I thought it had, but last time I drove through, there was 1-line two-way traffic. Is construction work going on right now?
Why is the right tube on the first photo closed? (If it his actually a tube that goes the whole way)
does anyone know if there were plans for dual tunnel like all others in Switzerland?
one “sleeve” for Milan direction and another sleeve the opposite?
I though Lærdal tunnel is the longest?
The new train does Zug – Ticino in 1.5h.
It’s so confortable and quick I do not think imma go by car anymore.
They should collect a toll and finance a new tunnel alrdady.
its not the longest tunnel in the world! the base tunnel is for the trains! the longest is in norway i think
I did it a few times. Its fuckin endless ahah
As a german I am convinced that at this point the swiss are just building tunnels because they have gotten so damn good at it. Do swiss people just see a mountain and go: “We have to build a tunnel through there”. Still, your tunnels are undeniably impressive.
I remember the old Tremola Road, that was fun.
