I have some pictures somewhere in an old book of the tropical Finland.
It was eerie, backbreaking labour in the fields, saunas and crappy houses; literal legends that you couldn’t tell what was real from myth, and finally ghost towns of who were the Finnish refugees.
They tried to prohibit dancing… no wonder it failed. Trying to get Brazilians to stop dancing is basically asking them to stop breathing.
Wow, I’m a Finnish vegan and I had no idea this place existed. Wish I had known when I visited Brazil a few years ago! Next time for sure, seems really interesting.
