Apologies in advance a couple non Norwegian pieces made it into the frame.
Wubba lubba dub-dub!
Jump to your daughter in 30 years: “Well, dad’s gone, time to get rid of all this crap, let’s hope the lopemarked will take them” 😉
Love the søljer, do you or someone in your family ever wear them?
Nice collection! We do use a lot of silver in Norway. The typically Norwegian thing though is that it is in use. For instance, I have inherited silverware for use at dinners, milk mugs, sugar cups, candelabra etc.
Silver is durable, don’t be afraid to use it regularly, bit waste to keep those pretty thing in a display. Just my two cents.
Many great pieces! Hope your kids appreciate them when the time comes. I’ve gifted some søljer to my indian in-laws. It feels kinda strange and cool that at some point someone is going to find a box of traditional Norwegian jewelry in a small Indian village. My mother in law wears hers I know but I don’t think my sister in law does, understandably so.
