Germans might be the most retarded country in europe for all the anti Nuke railing they have done for decades and as soon as they shut them down it bites them in the ass.
The whole idea of wind and solar-based energy without grid stabilisers is impossible to implement. And they were relying on bloody fossil russian gas for stabilisation. There is zero logic in that. I have been writing this here since 2016/2017 and was getting downvoted. French model is the only way to go in this part of Europe.

This is pretty normal though once the wind speed goes below 20km/h mark they just can’t generate any significant amount of energy. Same here in the UK we generate very little in the warmer months, but lots of wind power from late October to March.

You know electricitymaps has a daily/annual version now? I think it would be fairer to show that rather than the eternal cherry-picking one way or the other.
I’m all for nuclear power, but let’s not pretend than wind and solar work in the same baseload way as thermal power plants. We know the wind doesn’t always blow and the sun doesn’t always shine. This is why we need all low-carbon sources on the grid.
