our one year contract with airtricity ends oct 31. we want to shop around for another one year contract, via [bonkers.ie](https://bonkers.ie). when are we allowed to switch to a new provider, say, without breaching the existing contract? looking online now, they say moving now will result in breach of contract and a penalty. of course we don’t want to end the contract, just get the next contract in place before the existing one expires, and have no gap in between. anyone know how this works?

sign up on 31st, it will take up to two weeks to get everything sorted
you will end up paying for these days with the old provider, you won’t enter another 12 or so month contract
I’m waiting 2 weeks for a callback from SSE, after having spent a solid 90 mins waiting at various times. Ended up just telling Electricity Ireland that we were moving and they magically found a further 8% discount to bring us to 26%.
