Poor bastard, it’ll be a while before he lives that down.
Sailors carrying away a copper? Well well, the tables have turned!
He wasn’t charged with anything so went straight to ground.
All the poor fella probably knows is handing out crime numbers and speeding tickets bless him
I can’t imagine how much it’ll cost the poor bugger in cakes to pay that ‘cake fine’
Poor man, I hope its nothing serious and he makes a full recovery.
It must be exhausting standing still for so long.
I felt for the bearer party having to lift the coffin up and down and in and out of vehicles whilst literally being the centre of attention.
How long do you think it was before lines started forming to view his unconscious body on the stretcher.
Fainting is really common for people who have to stand completely still for a long time. Either they are dehydrated or they lock their knees which results in blood pooling in the lower legs and affecting blood flow to the brain. There are always going to be one or two especially in such a huge event. It’s absolutely inevitable.
Is there ever a parade or function of any kind where one of these poor bastards never collapses?
I’m surprised it is just one. Standing still for that long is murder on your legs, especially if you cannot take a wander every few minutes, the blood just ends up pooling in your feet and you get light-headed really quickly. It might not look great but those officers should have been allowed to relax or sit down to avoid this sort of thing happening.
Aye. The smell of all that horseshit could definitely do that to a bodie
What happened to him? Was it the heat or just bad blood circulation on the heels?
A lot of us working on the funeral had been at work from 3am – 6am in the morning
Luckily I was the latter
Got to sympathise with him and his colleagues. Wife and I went down to London last week and there were hundreds of Police all dong a brilliant job, but an awful lot of standing around. Must be painful after a full shift.
