Huh. Your blueberry plants look different than what we have around here in the States. Our leaves are a lot more slender, and they have smooth edges with a reddish stem.
I wonder how yours taste.
We don’t have any native fruits 🍉🍑🍊🍍🍌🍋🥝🍐 but it’s nice we have the berries 🫐🍓 at least ☺️

Are the bilberries bigger this summer than last summer? The ones I picked so far seem large in comparison to what I picked last summer.

My Finnish boyfriend keeps telling me nothing is ripe yet. But I’ve seen lots of people out picking. I wonder if he’s trying to put me off picking blueberries?
He also told me it rarely rains here but I’ve used my raincoat more in the last 2 months than in 1 year in the UK.
Do you have any tips for finding berries in Nuuksio? First time foraging in Finland.
I am in helsinki and would love to spend the day picking berries and mushrooms in the forest. What would be a good day trip for me? Are there any nice forest paths that i can get to on public transportation?
