Horse shit doesn’t bother me one bit…though maybe because regular laps in the countryside in the spring.
I live right outside Brussels and there are so many horses. I have seen three from my dining room today already.
Mostly I’m just coming to accept there will be a ton of horse shit everywhere. It sucks for biking, since it’s a shared path, but I dislike the giant horses and their humans as much as the piles of shit. My son wasn’t careful about puddles and came home with a giant streak up his back of grass mud that had been first digested by a horse. We improved splash guards on the bike and gagged a bit.
Just imagine how bad it must have been a 100 years ago.
There was so much horse shit on the streets, houses had a dedicated “wipe the horse shit from your shoes” device, next to their front door:
