I am constantly getting these bites. Could this be from grass mites?

  1. Same here…
Got the same bites after working in tall grass…
It hurts and itches more than a mosquito bite and last for 1-2 Weekes.

My Cat got the same problem with bites all over himself… The vet told me it was probably the grass mites…so I dit a little research:

They are red and 2mm big so very difficult to see.
They live in the grass and when its hot, they clime to the top of the grass and let them fall on victims passing by.
They track a place on the body and start biting.
Its saliva disolves tissue and calms the immune system so that you start feeling the bite 5-10h after the “attack”
It isn’t dangerous but itches like hell.

Because of the warm winter they survived in big numbers and the hot weather in summer makes them all go on searching for victimes…
(Climate change is so much fun!)

  2. Grass mites were all the rage last summer, this year I haven’t had a single bite. Nevertheless, yours do look like them.

  3. Looks like grass mites. After you were in grass, strip off your clothes & wash them. Take a shower. Rub your legs and arms with lavender oil next time before you go into grass. Unfortunately you will have to sit through the ones you have now, the are a pain!
