I would like to extend my TK health insurance so that I and my family are insured during our yearly India visit ( around one month mostly). TK offers two option: One through its partner, Envivas (chargeable) and one directly through TK which they call TK Tariff traveller. The one though TK seems to be of no cost but it seems there are some catch which I don’t get fully. Can someone guide me to decide which one should i choose?

When i choose
* Up to 60 days
* Yes, insure partner/kids also
* I am TK insured
Then the result is the TravelPlus (TravelXF) 28,90 EUR pro Jahr
So… go with that i guess?
There are cheaper options by the way… compare here: [https://www.check24.de/auslandskrankenversicherung/](https://www.check24.de/auslandskrankenversicherung/)
I personally had good experiences with ADAC and BarmeniaDirekt.
Have you tried to ask TK what the difference is?
The “catch” is that they just add on a small 24€ deductible for any preventive stays at health resorts (“Vorsorgekuren”). So if you don’t do anything like that, it costs nothing, and if you do, you will have to pay 24€ extra.
The other thing to be aware of, is that they have to report the value of the extra insurance as a taxable benefit-in-kind, so you might have to pay a bit of extra tax if you file taxes at the end of the year.
If you don’t expect to get sent to any health resorts and you don’t mind maybe having to fill in an extra line of your tax return, then there’s not really any reason not to go with the free one.
