I got access to and a copy of my family’s Securitate Files when I visited Bucharest 2 months ago. About half of the pages are in cursive that I can’t read, [example](https://imgur.com/a/sMdhWHT). Is there some sort of chart or resource that could help me read it? It’s about 60 or 70 pages so I don’t think I can expect random strangers on the internet to transcribe it for free.

Feel free to reply in Romanian.

  1. You can ask a kind person to transcribe one page and from that find the patterns and figure out yourself the rest, wont be fast or easy ( to be fair cursive even for natives can be hard to read, its more of a deduction game when the writting is so … particular). Best of luck! 😊

  2. That’s just cursive handwriting, you can do it yourself by first copy the handwriting in a doc, and then use google translate. You’ll get a knack for it after some practice.

Here’s a primer (your sample page):

*La despartire {…} O. m-a rugat sa discut cu prietenul meu conditiile propuse de ea si sa-i dau un telefon. IMO, this looks like an informer’s note annotated by the case Securitate officer.
