I’ve seen the train station Zürich closing certain gates for security purposes during big events.
Possibly the same purpose for Stadelhofen? In 10 years I’ve never seen the gates closed. Does someone has a better explanation?
it’s also a bomb shelter. protection against a number of things… and the (ruzzian) military
I think it‘s to close off the train station at night. At HB they usually close the gates at all entry and exit sites after the last trains have arrived.
The answer is in your question, what does a gate do?
A very swiss looking gate!
It’s a rookie pigeon’s bombing range. Open during rush hours 07:00-09:00
For the zombie apocalypse
It‘s quite simple: close it, so the homeless don‘t get in and make a home of the station
When the Zürcher get too annoying – especially during vacation season – we lock them in their city.
Get back in the night and you’ll see they are dropped down and close off the shopping area
its a fan for hot days.
In case of zombie attack XD
Zurich hb and Stadelhofen are like that and its for looking it up and the whole complex is an emergancy bunker or base of conroll in times of war and crisis under hb and Stadelhofen are huge bunker complexes that interconnect the two and the bunker at stadelhofen was meant for the secret sercive. You can see it almost everywhere that theres doors like bunkers hidden behind simple doors if somebody opens them and at Stadelhofen there you can even see the entrance to the bunker its locaded right behind the aldi/lidel it looks like a tower with a hige door on it. There is some article about it but some things are ceept seecret becose they still may be in operation
Well… how can I put this? to gate it?
The purpose of the metal gates at the train station Stadelhofen is to ensure the safety of passengers and to keep unauthorized persons from entering the platform area.
