  1. An old housemate got sucked into selling cleaning products door to door, in fairness she copped on to herself within a couple of weeks that it wasnt a real job.

An old work colleague has gone full tilt into selling diet supplements for the past few years, her Facebook profile went from normal to 15 posts a day about miracle supplements and a couple of posts a day about recruiting people.

Had to remove her from Facebook, just had a quick look and she’s still at it.

I’m always amazed that people fall for it so quickly and so hard.

  2. Know one who got sucked into that Younique one for a while. Thankfully she saw it for what it was before sinking too much into it

They were quite big in Derry for a while too, lots of people falling for them

  3. Yip, 25-18 years ago. I did the Tupperware parties, the weekly meetings were a total brainwash and you spend lots of money on the next offers as you have to show them at your parties. Also did Ann Summers, i was very good at those parties and with me being Dutch (not a local girl) the ladies felt confident buying the toys from me. Made it into the top 10 sales people in UK and Ireland. 😂

  4. Unfortunately my Mom got sucked into not one but 4 or 5 different MLMs back then.

Swiss magical herbal creams, Tupperware, magical cancer-healing magnets, Aloe gels you can name it I’ve seen all.

She was a single parent with 4 kids. I think what seduced her was the community behind these meetings where she can meet and talk with others, and they just exploited this disgustingly. She spent a good amount of her money on these products, while we were still struggling month to month with basic needs of like heating the apartment, having proper clothing or eating.

I despise any kind of MLMs based on what I had to endure as a kid.
