Hi there,I’m from Germany, and some weeks ago I registered on [finn.no](https://finn.no) to look for some old motorbikes.I already had a chat with a vendor.Last week I tried to message another vendor, but the system want me to verfiy with a bank ID from Norway that I don’t have.

Here you can see the verfiy options that I have

This is really annoying. I’m buying stuff from all over Europe, [subito.it](https://subito.it), [leboncoin.fr](https://leboncoin.fr), [milanuncious.com](https://milanuncious.com) , [basos.cz](https://basos.cz) and various other markets.

But it seems impossible to use [finn.no](https://finn.no)I contacted customer center, and sent an copy of my German passport, but they are not willing to verifiy my account.

I tagged some of the devs at twitter, but got no reply.

So please help me r/Norway, you’re my only hope

  1. Based on what I can see in their FAQ and support pages, it seems like there is no way to get verified unless you are Norwegian.

But as far as I know, you can still message people without being verified, I think.

  2. The only way to become verified on Finn is by using BankID, which you can’t get unless you move to Norway.

I haven’t used Finn very much, but I think users can set in their preferences that they will only accept messages from verified users. Which means that on some listings you won’t be able to contact the seller, if they have enabled this setting, and on others you should be able to send messages.

Finn also has the option to make listings for stuff you want to buy (“Ønskes kjøpt” on “Torget”), so one possible workaround if you know what you want is to post a listing yourself with some info about what you are interested in buying. Then people who have something to sell can reach out to you instead.
