Ignazio Cassis met Sergey Lavrov yesterday (sorry for erroneous top post). I am surprised that we still haven’t changed our approach. I was wondering what the community thinks about this.
This was yesterday.
Foreign minister meets with foreign minister of other country to discuss international politics.
That’s hardly surprising, is it?
Ignazio should’ve punched him. Would at least boost his ratings within the public.
Yeah, that’s what he’s getting paid for?
Damn he will regret that picture
Totally baffling how nobody seems to find this as annoying as I do. We’re obviously still playing the “both sides” game because “nEuTrAlItY”.
All the while our top politicians, president even, is happy to help out with a photo op to legtimize the Russian guy after he threatened the whole world once again. It’s sickening and it deserves some reaction but people in Switzerland are probably still too shocked because “king Roger” resigned last week.
I mean it shouldn’t be news to anyone, that lately Cassis has been on a mission to make Switzerland look as bad as possible on the international stage.
They have talked. What’s important is what they have talked about. Such pictures are diplomatic standard procedure. Refusing to take one wouldn’t help the cause. In fact, it would possibly prevent any further conversations from happening, along other potential negative effects.
I assume the keyboard warriors in this topic are also upset that Macron and Scholz weren’t throwing a slew of insults at Putin when they’ve talked to him on the phone.
Well I really don’t like Cassis but that’s his job especially with the Swiss diplomatic history. I would rather see this war end with diplomatic talk
