Trussonomics is a fanatical, fantastical creed, and the last thing Britain needs

  1. Despite neo-liberalism being a defining feature of modern economics, it is surprising (at least to me) how little the term is used in the general media. It always seems to get dressed up falsely as something new. It has in fact been put to practice for so long now, that it’s plain to see what the disastrous results are (for the so-called ‘little’ people anyway).

This ‘creed’ has been comprehensively put to the test, and found severely wanting…

Its proponents come across as either callous, or ideologically driven to the point where they seem like cult members (not that these things are mutually exclusive).

    >For Labour, it sets boundaries that cannot be crossed, for fear of punishment by the billionaire press.

It would seem disingenuous to portray Labour’s adherence to the theory as *entirely* reluctant 🙂

  2. It looks like the policies of a tired government and party which is trying to play the old hits to revive their fortunes.

It’s “Back to Basics” for the 2020s.

  3. “The Guardian”

I am giddy when Tories win next election. They probably are too as they continue to hate Britain.

  4. This is the logical end point of populism.

And as long as we are a democracy, we can stop this nonsense the moment we have had enough of it.

I wonder how much longer that will take.

  5. But the right wing media will convince people it is good for the UK and exactly what we need right now. This will only work as long as the public can be kept onside, especially in a cost of living crisis. The government must know that civil unrest is increasingly likely, so they will need their PR offensive to go into overdrive as soon as possible to get as many people onside and keep them there.

  6. The guy who is advising trust on economics is apparently not very good and has been discredit a few times.

  7. People had a chance in 2017 to get a government worth having and the manifesto was sound and time has shown it to be so, but as usual the people swallowed the propaganda from the establishment, the lying right wing MPs and the MSM.

And now here we are on the road to nowhere.

  8. They have 2 years to make as much money as possible for themselves or insure a cushy job on exit – that’s all that matters.

You, your family, you life and so on, can get lost.

  9. Whilst I’m hoping to goes through with the tax rise reversals and addressing fiscal drag, I suspect she won’t have the guts.
