I’m in Canada, and ever since they announced the Queen’s death I’ve been watching the BBC News live stream on the BBC News app, and I know there’s criticism of it in the UK at times, but it’s so much better than watching Canadian or American news channels
I thought the coverage was really bad, live shot of the coffin leaving Balmoral and the screen went grey, helicopter shots of the courtage through Royal Dee Side had worse quality than the feed from the moon landing 50+ years ago. Then the so called experts, one was asked what the difference was between the standards in England and Scotland and didn’t have a clue. Then the commentator mistaking the minute gun to a 21 gun salute to the new king!
And that was all on one day.
It will still only take them accurately reporting one thing the government does to get the #defundthebbc cranks back out
BBC thought the Queen of Denmark was… “The Queen of Holland”
They know nothing, as soon as anything outside the UK borders are reported on.
That is really embarrassing. If you ask me.
I am not sure if the BBC are responsible for the cameras but there were fantastic shots all day. The shot from the top of the cathedral looking down on the coffin, the shots down The Mall, the shots at Wellington Arch and the subsequent route via Hyde Park all the way to the shots going up to Windsor Castle. There was one shot where they cut perfectly from the end of The Last Post to God Save the King to capture two guards doing the salute.
All of this was aided by the weather making London look bright and the weeks of rain prior which turned a lot of it green again just before the autumn kicks in. The organisers were lucky with that.
Didn’t hear one thing about republican views on the monarchy. BBC showing it’s impartiality rules are basically worthless and that it only employs them when it serves their own political agenda.
Well done BBC you failed to use BBC 3 and BBC 4. BBC 1, BBC 2, BBC News, BBC Parliament all broadcasting the funeral yet you failed to utilise 3 and 4. You just needed to do a quick change to the Freeview setup and you could have broadcast the funeral on all the channels.
Thankfully Dave was repeating something.
I popped it on briefly but quit hard when they tried to explain how she was a country girl because she owned horses. It was the aural version of watching someone struggle to suck their own dick.
