‘It feels harder than ever’: independent radio stations under threat from rising bills

  1. I didn’t know there were many independent radio stations left.

Not since Global and Bauer have hoovered them all up and killed them.

  2. Everyone is feeling the same economic pain. The only way this financial misery ends is when sanctions against Russia end. I realize no one wants to hear that, but it is the truth.

  3. I hope this crisis makes people realize what’s really important in life. Avocado toast and 5 quid coffee ain’t it, chief.

  4. I would like to see easier and simpler regulation for micropower radio stations.

A lot of people ran low power pirate stations essentially for free, but doing it legally is very complicated and expensive. I do get that interference and harmonics etc is a problem, but if people knew they were not going to get their transmitters taken they would put a lot more work into making them cleaner.
