Imagine being this mad over cricket, the most boring game ever conceived of.
I venture to say this is the most interesting cricket related incident to occur in all of modern history.

Imagine the BBC wrote an article saying “a large group of people, mainly men, have invaded the Donbas region” and thinking that was OK journalism. Give people all the information.
Can you imagine what the BBC website would look like if gangs of hundreds of white men were travelling into non-white areas to beat them up and attack their homes due to their racial or religious background? I think it would actually overtake the endless Queen reporting and become their number 1 story.
Instead this has barely touched the news until yesterday despite going on for weeks and is reported on as if they don’t really know why it’s going on (hint: it’s not really about cricket). Meanwhile they’ve given 100 times the column inches to insinuating the met are trigger happy racists because they did their first shooting of the entire year involving some gangster with a gun history trying to run them down in a car.
Wouldn’t be a problem if these people just accepted that they are British and left their bigotry back home.

Already seen the ‘Hindu nationalist right wing’ thing mentioned. The gaslighting begins, the party calling for reinforcements from Birmingham will be absolved of all wrongdoing and treated with kid gloves as usual.

Leicester has traditionally had a large number of Hindus and Muslims in the area that have lived peacefully side by side for decades. However, a large number of Hindus have recently moved into the area from India with extremist Hindutva beliefs. For several months now, they have been attacking Muslim men, sexually harassing Muslim women and taunting Muslims coming out of mosques. For those of you who have been following the news in India, this is a common occurrence over there, practically every day there is a story of a Muslim being killed by a Hindu extremist or riots taking placing.
This all culminated in the India vs Pakistan cricket match last month, where mobs of drunken Hindus started shouting “death to Pakistan” and “death to Muslims” after the game and attacked several Muslims, a Sikh man and a police officer. It’s incorrect to state that this all started after the cricket match, locals know that this has been going on months but the story only received wider attention at this point. A couple of weeks later, after another India-Pak cricket match and more attacks and incidents, some Muslims got together after complaining about police inaction and had a march through mainly Hindu neighbourhoods, during which they shouted slogans and physical fights took place. The story had now made national news and the police and community leaders appealed for calm.
It seemed like things had calmed down but yesterday, a march of a few hundred Hindu youth took place through mainly Muslim neighbourhoods. Again, there were more attacks on Muslims and shops and houses were attacked. This then led to a group of Muslim youths forming and the two sides faced off last night. Bottles were thrown and the police had to get involved to separate both sides.
There has been a lot of tension in recent years between Muslims and Hindus due to events in India and Kashmir but up till recently, we didn’t have the same problems in the UK. As I said earlier, the attacks were started by gangs of drunken Hindu youths who recently came over to the country (you can tell from their accents in the videos) and began picking out Muslims to attack. Things have now exacerbated to the current state of affairs.

From the peak of football hooliganism in the 80s and 90s to modern cricket hooliganism. Squash one and another pops up to fill the gap.
This is a nightmare for the authorities, their priority will be how to deal with it without being seen as racist or offending a community.

honestly saddening and rather dumb and foolish of them , put shame on their communities and retrospective faiths to clash quite violently like that
