Ambulance service cares for 710 in queue – as overnight temperatures plummet

  1. Without any context in the title, things are so bad I thought that meant 710 in ambulances queueing at A&E.

  2. NHS on its knees, people who have genuine emergencies wait up to 12 hours but no, lets divert ambulances to people who deliberately stand in the cold for 10 hours to see a wooden box. This is unreal.

  3. The amount of services being closed or limited as a “mark of respect” for old Liz is pretty irresponsible and I’m not even sure she would have wanted that. Shops having limited opening hours I can kind of understand but cancelling hospital appointments? Really? Shit like that just makes me resent the monarchy even more.

  4. I swear that with each day of mourn fest passes the headlines get more and more dystopian. You just know a bunch of homeless people sat and watched people in that queue get blankets and free hot drinks.

  5. Was checking the forecast in advance too hard for people? It was not a secret that queues would last overnight by now, that was more than enough advance warning for people to plan a bag with some extra layers, some water and some snacks. These are the same people who go hiking in flip flops and take no water on a hot August’s day.

  6. The Queen should have been dismantled with the parts resting in state in regional centres throughout the UK, rather in the way the Catholic church distributes saintly relics.

The levelling-up policy needs initiatives like this.

  7. I was reading someone said that it had got cold at night and they realised they should have brought a coat. Some people can’t be helped.

  8. Yes, spare a thought to the plebs choosing to be out there, all the while ignoring the plight of those unfortunate enough to have to be out there every night regardless.

  9. For the people commenting that these people shouldn’t be given treatment, if they pay tax then they fund the system. They’re entitled to use it regardless of your personal opinion.

Just like how if you have two kids then the chance that you pay enough tax to afford the cost of schooling them is unlikely.

Just another case of people shitting on others.

  10. People bitching about ambulance crews being pulled off Jobs and an already stretched NHS bit this is no different to an ambulance crew being stationed at football matches/large events/ festivals. You think the recent Notting hill carnival doesn’t have ambulance crews stationed around it?

  11. As a someone who works in accident and emergency, why aren’t people taking more care of themselves. Personal responsibility is still a thing. They’re putting extra strain on the system for a woman who is already dead.

  12. If the lying in state had been a week later, they could have rerouted the London Marathon through Westminster Hall. No queues and thousands go through, admittedly some dressed as pantomime horses.
