A map of Éire I made using 3d surface data and satellite imagery, hope you enjoy! Tags:ireland 29 comments That’s amazing. Got an STL? It’s past your bedtime boys Beautiful! Beautiful That’s cool. Looks beautiful! r/MapPorn I can see my house from here I can see my house from here! Excellent! Can you do it again my eyes are closed in this one Would you have a 3d file of this. I could 3D print this for kids in school it would be a fantastic resource. Well done ~~Can I buy a print of this?~~ I mean, ideally I’d love a 3D / relief map of the island but failing that 2D Edit: Scratch that. I just went to the visualgeomatics.ca site shown on the image 🙂 Great map! What’s that little patch of orange near Foynes? never really noticed before how much the Mull of Kintyre resembles a flaccid penis, and arran beside like a detached ballsack Is it scaled in the z-axis? The mountains seem sharper than they should be. How’ya Ma! I made 3D surface data map too, but I animated it: I walked across that back in 2020. Fun to see my general route by following the mounainous areas from Dublin to west Cork. https://youtu.be/ITDAfRTyScI Now we can see the problem. There’s literally no houses on the island! This is so cool – you can see the score marks from glacial retreat! Now this is really awesome 10/10 Beautiful! Also confirms how utterly boring the midlands really is. Love this. Would love a copy of it in the living room ! Excellent, how accurate is it? I can see why Dublin was called The Pale Honestly every exaggerated relief map pales in comparison to this satellite imagery somebody sent last month https://i.redd.it/x1oye2a1api91.png As someone who uses ArcGIS for map creation this takes a tone of skill. Props to you. It looks stunning Out of interest, are the heights exact or are they scaled up in size for artistic effect? Leave a ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
