I have wrote a comment explaining why words that cannot be said don’t really exist in Polish, you are just vulgar boor when you used it. And why using euphemisms like “n-word” are weird to Poles. Reddit did not like it 😅

  1. Different culture. We didn’t enslave *n-people* so we didn’t need to feel guilty for it. So we don’t have “forbidden words” as you call them.

But Reddit is an American website, overflowing with american culture. And Reddit mods are treating everything using their culture, that is banning n-word-users

Either we adapt to their rules (as we’re on their website) or we go away. We can restrict to doing the forbidden only where we can get away with it (Wykop or sth). We can change our culture to be in line with the american one (isn’t that culture erasure?) Or we can move to/create an alternative that accepts our culture.

Or we can lobby for the rules change, but that likely won’t happen.

  2. We are getting more and more liberal each year, but i think the level of dumbness we can see for example in USA or on reddit is unachievable for Poland. We still have too much sanity.

  3. We definitely do have words that are considered slurs though

  4. Nothing new, but notice (not only with this messege but reddit in general) how they only give a shit about hate towards “vulnerable” groups, ergo, they dont give a fuck if someone is spreading hate or violance towards people that reddit hivemind consider “privilaged”.

Not that i lose any sleep over that but its funny, isnt it? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  5. This is coming from Americans who, for decades, had a TV show where “you dumb polak” was a punch line. A country that rebuilt germany, not poland, despite poland being obliterated by germans.
A country that came in after the berlin wall came down, and said – see, we americans did that, we saved you polaks from russian oppression.

    LOL fucking LOL.

  6. I just read through most of the original post that this banned comment was from and it left me feeling beyond pissed off. So many people made valid points in that post answering the person’s question, yet the OP kept on responding to their comments with logical fallacy after logical fallacy. The fact that their post wasn’t removed but your comment was makes absolutely no sense to me; I think that is such toxic behavior on Reddit’s part.

  7. I made a similar argument, no way they’re considering this shit hate speech

  8. Yep that’s Reddit for ya. Even tho they hide behinde freedom of speech they will silence you if your views are diffrent from theirs. Its actually kinda big problem on Reddit that isn’t really talked about here. Reccomend checking out some videos on YT about it

  9. It’s all fun and games until you mention “polish concentration camps” and then suddenly it turns out polish language does have forbidden words.

  10. And how many slurs did you cram in there as “examples”?
