Reading these comments is really weird, it’s like r/unitedkingdom is like peering into some weird portal into an alternate reality that doesn’t reflect *at all* the country of the United Kingdom I live in.

It closes on Sunday as it is, that way everyone in it can still see the coffin. If they have to close early to allow that then so be it. It might suck for those who have not been able to come down to London until tomorrow but that is just how life is sometimes.
I haven’t seen what the the end of the queue looks like so far, as you file out. But I imagine one opportunistic ice cream Van a couple of days back, slowly followed by a burger van, falafel stand, some beer brand probably Camden Town. by Sunday we’ll have stalls where you can charge your phone, deliveroo cyclists riding up and down the queue dropping off supplies.
If you could see the actual dead body I’d get it, but you’re literally just looking at a blanket, for all you know it might be empty

Statistically speaking, there’s a better than average chance someone will die waiting for 24hrs in a queue that big. Especially the older folk. Hope they’ve brought camping chairs with them.

We had to wait over two hours at Disney world for space mountain and it felt like my life had stopped. I cannot imagine waiting 24 hours in a queue lol. These people are crazy.
Do people sleep in the line ? or do you just keep going for 24 hours? Like how does it even work ? Also do people not have jobs to go to ??
Just crazy people will queue 15 hours plus for someone they didn’t know personally and would not even see in person as they are just walking past the coffin – it’s bonkers, but then that’s my opinion

I want the funeral postponed just we can see how long the queue would go for.
