And what if he brought up the protests?
Did you ever consider he might be trying to keep an amicable relationship so that he can have the opportunity to discuss important issues like the protests with Iran?
Go on ya gobshite
Diplomacy, particularly in forums like the UN, is kind of pointless if you’re only willing to speak with countries with which you’re in agreement.
The ultimate purpose of diplomacy generally, and multilateral fora in particular, is to avoid the alternative way in which countries interact – sanctions, isolation, war. All for those are very very bad for those living in the places impacted.
I’ve no idea what the read-out from this meeting was, but Ireland reopened our embassy in Tehran last year having closed it ten years ago during the cutbacks. Coveney visited in February where they primarily discussed the Iran Nuclear Deal: https://www.dfa.ie/news-and-media/press-releases/press-release-archive/2022/february/visit-of-minister-for-foreign-affairs-and-minister-for-defence-simon-coveney-to-iran.php
Always question the news, always question why these protests happen in the Middle East, the TIMING of them, you’ll notice a pattern, Egypt, Tunisia, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Palestine and more. Always question these escalations that pop up out of no where. You’ll notice who’s behind the destruction and civil unrest you’ll notice how the world is run, war is good for business. Wake up, you’re supposed to know how to critically think.
Poe face at all times, got it. By no means should you attempt diplomacy
