Statistiek Vlaanderen: Helft van de bevolking vindt meeste mensen betrouwbaar, hooggeschoolden hebben meer vertrouwen in medemens, inwoners van grootsteden vinden medemens vaakst behulpzaam

  1. Really have to work on that one: when I get approached, most of there time it’s people begging for money, so I get annoyed the second people try to talk to me now.
    But yesterday I got asked for directions twice so there’s that.

  2. Too often what are called “educated” people are simply people who have been sheltered from reality for years in ivycovered buildings. Those whose whole careers have been spent in ivy-covered buildings, insulated by tenure, can remain adolescents on into their golden retirement years.

  3. According to HBVL, 52% of Limburg does not trust the Flemish government and its institutions. So when you get called up by ‘Statistiek Vlaanderen’ I do wonder how this affects the results. Waste of tax money anyways to have another government agency on top of Statbel; who cares about the arbitrarily defined region that falls under some competencies of the Flemish government except for the politicians themselves? As if trust in people suddenly changes when you cross the ring of Brussels or into the ‘language border’.

  4. Nooit gedacht dat mensen in grootsteden elkaar het behulpzaamst zouden vinden. Denk dat als je dit in een echte groot stad zoals New York zou vragen je wat anders meemakt.

  5. Hooggeschoolden hebben meestal meer geld, wat hen minder afhankelijk maakt van andere mensen.
    Hierdoor hebben ze nog maar zelden ‘beroep moeten doen’ op hun medemens. Er is dus minder kans dat hun vertrouwen is geschonden.
