Lindsay Hoyle Says Queen’s Funeral Is ‘The Most Important Event The World Will Ever See’

  1. I mean world peace, true clean unlimited energy, the eradication of disease and illness, first to set foot on another planet, finding extraterrestrial life… I mean the list goes on.

  2. Across the pond, schools will still be in session and people will be working and maintaining daily routines. This is a media-driven frenzy, as literally no one is talking about it (other than TV news channels).

  3. Most important? This coverage is nauseating. It seems to be a festival of who can jerk off the most to how amazing the queen was.

She was a figurehead and had some soft power nothing more. Her main concern was safeguarding the future of the monarchy, her wealth and reputation.

Where was this beloved flawless leader when people were queuing at food banks? Where was she when refugees needed shelter?

She was paying millions instead to cover up her son’s past as a sex predator.

  4. Totally up his own arse. I don’t know anyone in the UK who gives the slightest toss about it, let alone elsewhere in the world.

  5. My arse….it’s not even the most important event going on in England tomorrow….that crown belongs to me getting beat by my wife at monopoly or twister

  6. Haha, not surprising from him to be fair. He’s hardly the brightest parliamentarian even out of a very disappointing crop!

    Carry on, Lindsay lad.

  7. Fuck me, the arrogance of this is off the scale. *Even in the context of the British Monarchy*, there will be countless future funerals of Kings and Queens — why is hers more important than all of them?

  8. The entire point of the monarchy is having a seamless transition of power. The idea is that all the stuff the Queen did, Charles does now. You’re not meant to grind to a halt when one of them dies, that defeats the purpose.

Also the king only has 10 or 20 years maximum left. Will his funeral be of little importance?

  9. 5. Caesar crossing the Rubicon

    4. Agricultural revolution

    3. Chicxulub impact

    2. Abiogenesis

    1. Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral

  10. This is the dumbest thing anyone has said about the funeral so far and there is some extremely tough competition there so good job Lindsay

  11. He’s talking out his bum. It’s not even the biggest event of the year, the invasion of Ukraine has enormously changed our world and the economy. It might even end in a regime change in Russia. The demise of Putin would be far more significant than a 96 year old dying of old age.

These people are living in a weird bubble of self-importance.

  12. Ignoring a 2-year pandemic that killed 5m people that only ended earlier in the year. Really *what a forelock tugger.*

  13. No its an exercise in toeing the state line
I’m sorry the family lost a mother/grandmother but be grateful she lived as long as she did the rest of us aren’t generally as fortunate and that is without taking the recent pandemic into the equation which took many people far before their time, not just the old.
Waiting for treatment for something urgent is not good at the best of times but in recent years its almost a death sentence
