Kenneth Branagh is Boris Johnson! Brace yourself to relive the pandemic with This England

  1. “Relive the pandemic” – Seeing as we only unmasked a few months ago, I must ask, had we forgotten?

Surely making a historical retrospective on something that is still going on is closer to propaganda than entertainment? Or a scripted reality TV show. Either way, everyone involved in this should be embarrassed.

  2. The trailer looked absolutely garbage. I quite like Branagh but I think he made a poor decision on this.

  3. I definitely need more time. Perhaps in 10 years we can watch Boris with a sort of bemused head-shaking instead of disgust.

  4. I want to see the alternative history, where he does inject himself with the virus on live TV “to prove it’s harmless”.

  5. Too soon. I’m expecting the next few years to have old staffers leaking wild stories about how much of an arrogant weirdo he is. We need all that dust to settle before we present the story.

Also Boris quietly mumbling out a Shakespeare soliloquy seems like the sort of thing that wouldn’t be in there if it wasn’t Kenny playing the lead.

  6. Had enough of Boris, his fabrications, and abhorrent behaviour (Oxford comma? – having been corrected); without any desire to be reminded of him or his ilk (even if something is disparaging about him). Just sick to death of him.

  7. Even with enough historical distance, I would have a hard time convincing myself to watch this.

Michael Winterbottom works better when he’s doing more low-key comedic projects, Like The Trip

  8. These kinds of obviously biased political hack job dramas are always excruciatingly bad.

    Embarrassing for everyone involved.

Glad boris was ditched before they could release the film.
