The smaller one looks a he’ll of a lot more appealing
Cutting meat to get it to match a specific weight isn’t a new thing.
Don’t see the issue here if the pack was labelled as “400g Chicken Breast”. If it was labelled “2 Chicken Breasts” then its an issue.
You don’t usually buy X number of chicken breasts, you buy **X grams** of chicken breast.
Unless it said 2 chicken breasts on the pack or it said 500g and you only got 400g, I really don’t see a big problem here. You can usually see the chicken through the pack as well.
That’s why I’m buying in local butcher 4 fillets 5e beef burger 75c and them produce own cattle as well
Try going to the butchers. They are generally cheaper then anything that comes in a plastic tray. And taste better as well.
To be clear, it’s not misadvertised as that would be illegal. But they’ve reduced the amount of grams you get for two breasts in the packing, so instead of getting two whole breasts where usually they might be one big and one medium or so, they’ve started lopping the ends off to have a sub 300g two pack now, yet the price is higher than before. That’s shrinkflation.
Chicken breasts are always stupid expensive compared to a whole chicken or legs.
Bit of a weird way to cut it. Would make more sense to cut it lengthways underneath. At least then it looks like a full breast in the pack.
