After Sweden now Italy: far-right parties are governing key EU countries

  1. How is the new Swedish government FAR-RIGHT? Wtf? So how far exactly can we go in this? Do we start to measure it in nautic miles? Light years far-right? How can every single right-wing party be far-right? Or do they become one when they win?

But like seriously, is there any definition of what’s considered universally far-right? Or is it just another buzzword?

  2. FdI and Lega are way more far-right than Sweden Democrats.

Not everything is about immigrants. Sweden Democrats are more like Forza Italia in social issues except immigration. Maybe even more progressive…

  3. Italian right isn’t “far right”. According to me you don’t know what are you talking about.

  4. Too much immigration decimated the working middle class, the mainstay of left leaning parties.

Now their kids are voting any clear anti-immigration platform, left or right!

Something similar happened in the US with Trump…

If these new right anti-immigration parties don’t go too far out to piss large portions of the society, they may last longer than we expect…

  5. ”key european countries”, really?

    Italy and Sweden?

not saying it’s not a bad thing but let’s keep some perspective.

  6. France, Germany, these are key EU countries. Sweden is an important one but I wouldn’t call it key. Italy was led by Berlusconi in 4 governments, has had a long lasting instability and we are surprised that now an extreme right party is taking the lead?

  7. “Nothing could go wrong if we allow neoliberalism to go unchecked and promote massive rates of immigration to suppress wages at the same time as putting strain on public services and raising crime. Clearly these people are just racist.” – neoliberal journalists.

  8. How many countries is it going to take before the people in Brussels realise that people are really angry and lecturing them about voting for the “wrong” sorts of people isn’t going to work?

  9. Italiani! *flexa la posa sul balcone*

Apart from the memes about Mussolini, Italy is fucked and it is disappointing to see how many voted en-masse for the racist bigot homophobic right wing just because they say “n-words took our jobs”…depressing really.

Enjoy your 5 years of fasci Italians…

  10. And many people keep yelling “fAsCisM!!!!” instead of understanding why so many people are tired of the moderate parties and that you shouldn’t be ashamed of your country.

Spanish elections will be next year, Vox (the “far right” party) is having some troubles right now and their speech is becoming a bit repetitive for me at least, but I hope that we can change the current left wing coalition
