  1. Well, seems Patriarch is definitely paving his way down to hell, at least according to the religion he professes.

  2. That’s not how this stuff works.

One of the main beefs the byzantines had with the catholics was them being mortified by the idea of canonical absolution for military action, and they insisted that their commanders made sure that it’s not the case.

  3. I smell an desperate attempt to make the mass mobilization a little more edible to the russian public.

  4. What he seems to be saying is that this is a sacrifice akin to martyrdom, but that seems pretty heretical.

  5. Sometimes i wonder just how can russian citizens gobble all this propaganda, they must be REALLY good at it, unfortunately…

  6. Reminds me of the Iran-Iraq war where Iran hit Iraq with human wave attacks and were praised as martyr by the Ayatollah.

  7. Orthodox Christianity is in crisis sins communist agents got in while USSR. And 30 years later they serve same masters, while wondering why no one is visiting the temple anymore. Pitty

Not to mention that Russians where christened by Kievan Rus…Kiril needs to be cleared.

  8. When I read statements like this (or Berlusconi’s the other day), I cannot help but think that it’s because the Russians have “material” on them. And since nobody cares anymore about financial stuff, the only really great thing is picture of them with ehmm not very elderly ladies and boys.

Or maybe they’re just pure idiots.
