If only the Government had had a chance to improve the situation with, I don’t know, some kind of “mini budget”
Thank fuck the 45p tax rate is going. Now that all of those people earning above 150k will have more disposable income left each month, they can now go out and spend more locally, which in turn helps businesses. Once these businesses have extra money, they will be able to lower prices for the other 98% of the population, fixing, almost overnight, the cost of living crisis. Thank fuck for the mini budget and trickle down economics. /s
I’ve come to the conclusion after many years, but particularly the last two or three, that governments both here and abroad are fully awake. This is all deliberate. They know fully the plight of the 99%, they just don’t give a fuck.
Amazing that any crisis is taken by the government as an excuse to profit. Covid? Wang billions at your mate’s company! Banking? Wang billions at bank CEOs! Housing? Deregulate until housebuilders become scalpers, and let them rinse the buyers out for their freeholds too!
The rich: 5% pay cut
The poor: 1% pay cut
Cost of living crisis resolved! Daddy, can i buy thr yacht now please?
I’m convinced, Brexit followed by the idiotic, self-serving policies of the Tories (conservative and unionist party ha!) are going to destroy the union.
There is no way to ensure the commitments under the Good Friday agreements can be met under Brexit.
On top of that, the inevitable global recession facing the UK means that Ireland, as a member of Europe, will be better insulated to withstand the worst.
Ultimately, pragmatism is going trump decades old resentments (which the younger generations have never really witnessed).
Northern Ireland will vote for a united Ireland.
At that point, if not sooner, Scotland will go the same way.
All this in the next one to two decades and all down to the Conservative and Unionist Party.
The government will fix it as soon as the war on woke is over
Priorities right?
Seems like the perfect time to have another recess for conference season then! They have only had summer holidays, a break for the leadership contest and then two weeks of mourning. A whole four days of politics must have really tired them out.
According to some shit heads on Twitter, Oatmeal is the answer.
70P a pack and thats 30 meals you know.
I’m not sure how long you can survive on an all oatmeal diet but some poor fucker is going to find out this winter.
I mean, a substantial amount of people were more concerned with standing in line and waiting in a queue in order to honour a 96 year old wealthy woman who did little to nothing for them despite having the opportunities and power to do so.
Truss is all friends with the hedge fund traders,
Our economy tanked yesterday because of the mini budget
Please let there be a revolt. Please
We need a serious initiative to support people with better infrastructure and not more money in circulation.
So reddit is predominately centre left oriented but do people think there is an appreciation among joe public of how bad this budget and the outlook really is?
