> Mr Ahearn is said to have told the meeting that “the dogs on the street” knew the system would be thrown into chaos when a decision was made to make the school buses free of charge.
>More than 6,000 children who applied for school bus places did not get a space as demand soared when the Government announced that school transport fees would be waived to ease cost-of-living pressures on families.
> One source at the Fine Gael meeting said **Ms Foley “won’t admit she fucked it up”.**
> Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil TDs and senators clashed with hotel representatives at a meeting last night over perceptions of price-gouging.
> Sources said that representatives of the industry said that if the Vat rate on hotels goes back to 13.5%, consumers will be hit with the price rise, prompting “sharp” responses from the Fianna Fáil members.
> **”It was put to them that the Vat cut didn’t result in lower prices,”** said one party source.
Its Norma and FG, I’m not surprised, they will blame SF by the end of the week for it.

Honestly think she’s one of the worst ministers in my lifetime. Her handling of the majority of issues has been dire.
She is the most incompetent of the lot of them, which is quite the feat
” Frustration at Norma Foley’s handling of …… ” could easily be the headline
Who the fuck let’s her out dressed like that? Every female teacher in my school looked like that in 1988
She’s clearly out of her depth.
Having said that the irish teaching unions were lunatics during Covid. The loudest and most irrational of all unions. Noone could have dealt with a group that thought they were qualified to demand vaccine priority. And that said “no teacher will be required to do anything” regarding rescheduled exams for July or August 2020.
She is clearly a well-connected idiot that couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery!
Ministers were always just fall people for the high-ranking civil servants calling the shots. Figuratively, the heads of the bureaucrats who pulled the strings on the school transport scheme need to roll also.
Norma Foley, incompetent?
No. Never.
I saw her on Prime Time the other night justifying and defending her handling of the Shool Transport Scheme.
It was pathetic.
In the country we can’t even get kids to school.
I always voted FG but will be taking a long hard look at that choice next time out. How they can stand over this from their partners is beyond me.
