* Hello everyone, I know we don’t have best relationships because of politics and stuff but I don’t care about them. We are komşu, I love you all.
* Anyways, I was reading about Turkic leaders like Attila, Timur and Mehmed II later on I wanted to read about some Greek leaders, I always loved Leonidas I since I was a little kid. We in Turkiye love the epic Battle of Thermopylae a lot. This (https://youtu.be/it6QlKw6jrY) from YouTube was suggested to me and I loved Leonidas I in this video.
* I have decided to watch Fate/Zero anime where Alexander the Great exists as a main character. And oh boy, he gave me tears and joy while watching him and later on I decided to research about his real life. Holy shit man this dude literally wrecked Achaemenid Persian Empire.
* I love how he is adopted by Darius III’s mother and loved by his people, and he even killed Darius III’s killers and made a funeral for him. Alexander buried Darius’s remains next to his Achaemenid predecessors in a regal funeral. He claimed that, while dying, Darius had named him as his successor to the Achaemenid throne.
* What a freaking gigachad! And there are more to list and I am not going to list all those since you guys probably know all these stuff, my question is: Are there other Greek leaders like Leonidas I or Alexander the Great? I really want to read about them!

Note: Sorry if I made a mistake in English it is not my main language since I am Turkish.

Edit: The anime inspired me to research about Alexander the Great, of course anime got nothing to do with real life.

  1. Pericles, Justinian A, Pyrros, Basil ll, Constantine the Great, Cleopatra (she was Greek descend)

Some that came to my mind..

  2. Since you read abiut Alexander, you might as well read about the Diadochoi who are high ranking people in Alexander’s army that took over Alexander’s empire and split it between them after he died causing the succession wars.

Some epic battles and stories both with them and their descendants, even Cleopatra is a descendant centuries later.

  3. If you want generals Constantine the great , Alexande the great, pyrrhus , miltiades, belisarius, Basil the bulgar slayer, alexios komnenos, nicephoros phocas, John tzimiskes

If you want warriors leonidas and the rest of soartans , George maniakes, timoleon, sgouros

Also timur was mongol by blood not turkic
And attila is debatable some say uralic ugric. mehmet the conqueror actually wasn’t a good general he lost to albanians and wallachians that had much smaller armies but great administration

  4. You can read the Illiad and learn about Achilles, Agamemnonas,Oddyseus etc but it’s an epic poem and does not accurately depict history if that’s what you’re looking for
