I’ve met him (he’s quite eloquent and quite active in many conferences in Cyprus, but with a clear pro-British agenda).
Generally, one thing that Cypriots of all political persuasions can agree on is that, over the years, Britain has a very large share of responsibility for the Cyprus tragedy. In my opinion, larger that both Turkey and the 1967-74 Junta.
Also, pretty much nobody likes the continuing presence of the British military bases, but getting them out is a legal mess.
yes ofc it can be solved, we need more british, turkish mainlanders, greeks from greece and all the other hands in the pie to solve it. any minute now all these lovely peoples doing gods work gonna solve it real good i tells ya
To late for reunification that passed in 2004 to late for the Greek Cypriot administration to retake the north by military means the sanctions are only making the north into a Turkish island so much for the Greek Cypriot administrations long war this status quo will continue as the Greek Cypriot administrations keeps up its demands for total control over the whole island
Yes, scrap the Treaty of Guarantors, remove all Turkish troops and most mainland Turks who came over, put in a TC leader who actually wants a realistic solution, then leave the Cyprus problem to the Cypriots to fix.
We should leave the Turkish and Greek concepts aside and move on to the “Mediterraneanism” policy.
