“After initially being incapacitated, the 41-year-old recovered and ran to the side of the bridge before appearing to jump into the river below.”

Sounds like it was own stupid decisions. I guess you could argue the polcie should have restrained him better afterwards–fair enough.

But his family are whinging about excessive force.
Ironically, years of being incorrectly criticised for imaged excessive force have led to officers being reluctant to restrain a suspect…. when getting him handcuffed straight away, before he could run off and jump the bridge, might actually have saved him.
And the headline still makes it sound like a taser had a causal link to the death.
Boooooooring.
Man gets himself killed in an attempt to escape the police. Blame lies entirely on man.
The video was all over the internet just after it happened.
The victim was obviously in an agitated state in the middle of the road. Two police try to calm him down, he becomes more and more agitated and becomes threatening. Is tasered initially collapses then as the police move towards him he literally gets up and throws himself over the side of the bridge.
The victim was having what appears to be a psychotic episode in public. In an ideal world he would have been undergoing crisis treatment for mental health, but we live in Tory Britain so instead his mental illness killed him.
I am no fan of the police but there wasn’t really much they could have done in this case.
Man gets shot with 50,000 volts then jumps off a bridge and family wonder why he dies. Sounds like an onion headline lol what a clown.
So the man run off and jumped off a bridge. How is that the polices fault?
This is another if you don’t run and cooperate then you wouldn’t be dead.
Independent, Guardian and Standard really pushing for a ‘race war’.
Well, that does suck for them. 3 month wait. To us it’s just a news story, to them it’s their family.
I mean, they saw the footage of the incident so they knew what had happened….which was their loved one jumping off a bridge of his own volition.
Man jumps off of bridge into the Thames and dies.
Police actively attempted to restrain and stop him from doing this.

Mental gymnasts moan at the police yet again.
Boring.
