Fuck Merz the Blackrock Pawn, who’s Party is the reason we are in this shitty Situation even
Not wrong, here’s a statement from Wojciech Bakun the president of Polish town Przemyśl (basically the first town Ukrainians enter when coming to Poland)
>✅ Monday morning’s post is on a topic that has already been raised but has not elicited any response. I would like to point out that it is not directed against anyone, it only presents an objective assessment of the situation and what we have to face as a border town.
>
>✅ Since the end of February, it was Przemyśl that became the first aid point for refugees, and it was the people of our city, and then volunteers from all over Poland and the world joining them, who worked day and night, seven days a week to help those fleeing war. To date, the Humanitarian Aid Centre on Lwowska Street is run in conjunction with the Polish Red Cross to help those affected by the war effort. Such people continue to come to us and all kinds of assistance is provided.
>
>✅ However, it is impossible not to notice a practice that has been going on for some time, which periodically gains momentum. One cannot fail to notice organised transports of women with children, who have written down on cards the procedures they have to follow in order to receive material and financial assistance. Every day, these people form a queue in front of the Town Hall, then go to MOPS and ZUS to apply for benefits. They then return to Ukraine by organised transport. Humanitarian aid organisations have already realised and stopped providing assistance to such people. The question is why has our legislation not yet noticed the problem of draining the Polish social assistance system?
>
>✅ I am all in favour of helping, but when it comes to helping refugees who are fleeing war, I don’t think it’s a question of entire communities switching over to our welfare system? That is not the way! From the very beginning, we have tried to do things as wisely as possible when providing assistance, hence the appeal to MPs, senators and ministers to look into this, because as a local authority we do not have any instruments to prevent it. The only thing we can do is legally register these people in the PESEL system, which opens the way to a whole range of support instruments.
>
>✅ Later today I will be writing to MPs, senators and ministers, calling on them to tighten up the support system and prevent the system from being drained!Translated with [www.DeepL.com/Translator](http://www.DeepL.com/Translator) (free version)
If it’s happening in poorer Poland, then for sure it’s happening in Germany.
Of course neither me nor Bakun are saying to not help Ukrainians.
Don’t know what this german politician is implying, just providing context from Poland.
Merz and his party are the first to want to expel refugees. Now they are supposedly going back voluntarily and he doesn’t like it either? Fuck him and his neocon bunch of idiots.
>accused Ukrainian refugees of taking advantage of Germany’s social welfare system by seeking protection in the country, collecting benefits and then returning to Ukraine.
Oh yes, I can’t think of one other reason why some displaced Ukrainians are going back home. It is definitely just to get some of that welfare
People really drank the koolaid of Merz, Kiesewetter and co, not realizing they are liars at the core, once in a while they show it though.
Hmm as expected when russian invasion fails anti ukraine voices would be heard more and more.
From my work with refugees in Germany, they are all quite concerned about returning to Ukraine while getting benefits, and by now figured out with the local governments how to report absences.
They don’t want to be blocked from access to EU due to cheating. Sure, some might do so, but I don’t think it’s widespread. I also think the governments should punish abusers. They are able to track entry-leaving, after all.
On the other hand, many people do think of returning back to Ukraine when their city isn’t bombed for a couple of weeks. Then it gets bombed, civilian casualties -> they return. For example Kharkiv is one of such cities.
Anyway, such returns have slowed down, afaik, since:
1. travel is not free, takes a long time (only cars or trains), and Russia is already destroying power plants to make Ukrainians freeze, so they would probably stay in Europe for now.
2. People are more prepared for the travel and know the procedures from the earlier waves of refugees, also more integrated and quite a few have found jobs.
Abuse of solidarity is a thing, there’s always people that will do it, but it’s the bigger picture that matters. A tiny percent doesn’t represent everyone.
All I can say about this is that we should hope to never be at a border section, fed out of a cauldron, trying to figure out where we’re going to sleep tonight. The stress is unimaginable.
Conservative, rightwing, the parties that attract the neo nazis, the cowards, the selfish, the cruel, the hateful and the unimaginative. Seems to just be an international party of greed and authoritarian ideals.
Poor Mr Merz and the others who share his opinion: realpolitik is a bitch. Apparently, if your ruling party sponsors a totalitarian regime for twenty years and gets addicted to a cheap natural resource without alternative suppliers it can backfire really badly.
I believe the problem of Ukrainian refugees that Mr. Merz and co. are addressing is real, however, a bigger problem might be on the horizon: what will be the direction of the wind when the russians drop a nuke on Ukraine? I wounder if CDU has an opinion on that?
Completely normal as time passes Ukrainians will turn into Syrians. You can downvote me but I remember clearly how everybody was welcoming Syrians with open arms and throwing roses until war prolonged. Skin color(some syrians are white) or Christian(also many were christians) roots does not mean this love will last forever. This is just bitter truth and the guy is saying Ukrainians already milking the state dry as far- right says about Muslims or Africans
So he’s surprised that refugees want to go back to their country? That’s a new complaint from a conservative.
I know that in my town, a lot of Ukrainian refugees that arrived in February and March have left months ago when Russian troops pulled back from Kyiv.
“Afghanis, Syrians, Ukrainians… never let a good refugee crisis go to waste”
Every conservative/right wing party ever.
Its just so disheartening that apparently it really doesnt take much more to get elected than saying foreigners bad, woke culture is the devil’s work and make [insert country name] great again. And just like that millions of people flock to you, read to vote against their own interests.
fuck that imbecile
Ich fürchte die Ideen des Merz
No problem accepting russian orcs, but Ukrainian war refugees? NOOoo germany can’t have that
Don’t listen to him, he’s just a fucking idiot getting in his own way and pissed off because he’s not achieving his goals. With such statements he has already disqualified himself in the past. So don’t take it seriously.
It’s really sad that this spineless idiot will be the next german chancellor.
> “The German government has no statistics on whether and to what degree the abuse Merz alleged is actually occurring.”
Here is Merz’s populist shit back again.
This is also the guy who leads a poll regarding our future chancellor…
Right wing parties always need an enemy. Shame.
